ERRRRMAHHHHGAWDDDD YUMMMM
I basically stumbled upon this joint bc of it's proximity. I was out for dinner and felt like something like a chocolate cake or brownie. What I ended up having was equally great, maybe even better - the German chocolate pie with coconut and walnuts. I'm not even a coconut fan! It was as delish and a great pick with the help of the helpful cashier. I'm sad I don't live in DC to frequent this joint. -

First and foremost this place is hands down the destination on h st ... and in life really .... and there's an absolute angel of a man that works named Keegan ... "the pie whisperer of justice".... he can tell you not what you want ... but more what you need. With the authority and decisiveness of a man who's seen and done it all. The way the Christmas lights shine off of the back of his neck is enough to make any man or woman shake..... he really is a pie shaman... of Justice .... the way he saw me come in and pointed at me with unadulterated decisiveness and told me ... Jameson shot and French toast pie ... I stood there speechless... but he was right .. it's what I needed and was beyond happy with his choice ... so thank you Keegan.. you sweet angel...you knight of snacks...you savior of my temptation

Sorry about long review but plz take time to read!
I've been to the original location in Baltimore(my first time going) and absolutely LOVED IT. Left the shop with 5 pieces. This was different.
Environment :
Late night visit at 10pm. They close at 330am. The crowd was drunk/high & loud young adults.
The first server had an "over it" attitude like she had been working too long so i gave her a pass considering the crowd in the store. The other server was smacked. Lit. Off the natural grass. Whatever you wanna call it, she was so high she could barely open eyes.
Order:
From top to bottom in the picture i got; Baltimore bomb,s'mores and French toast.
I've gotten the Baltimore bomb in Baltimore & fell in love. This was not that. The consistency was off and so was the flavor profile. I didn't finish it, ate a quarter of the slice. My boyfriends had the s'mores, he said it had a weird aftertaste. We split the French toast and only ate the top of it. The consistency was just WEIRD. usually their cream base pies are smooth. This was more so lumpy and gritty.
Really not sure if this was a location issue or hr of the night issue.
I've attached the Baltimore pie pictures for reference!!
Won't be returning. If i ever drop by Baltimore again & I'll stop at the original location. -

My friends have all been here and even ordered pies to bring to my house parties but I've never stepped foot inside until tonight.
The lower level has two dozen or so seats (2- and 4-tops) and the ordering counter is to the left far side.
The menu is on the left wall, lacking any descriptions, probably not needed for their regular base (newbies can refer to their website).
I ordered a key lime pie because I'm stereotypically me. It was very, very good! Creamy, smooth, consistent, sweet but not overly so, and fresh. Thick slice. Homemade everything from the looks of it. The crust was very crumbly. It didn't look as award-winning as say, Stanford Grill's, but it held its own.
The service was friendly and adequate. There is a bar and a stage upstairs for performances!
